Breakfast has long been called "The Most Important Meal Of The Day," and for good reason. For kids, breakfast sets the tone for the day not only nutritionally, but even emotionally and just in terms of the pace in which they will take in the day. For dads, it has to be easy and fast! Right?
The items below are some of our favorites. They’re quick, deliciously surprising (which kids love) and they smell great. Take it from me, it is much easier to lure a kid out of a comfy bed with the warm, inviting smell of Muffin Tin Sandwiches than with all the begging in the world.
With these tasty items waiting for them, they’ll be dressed and ready to go before you know it! Print out the recipes below and hang them on your fridge. They’re easy and your kids will love ‘em.

2 cups milk
1 cup water
1 cup ice cubes
3 tablespoons sugar
6 oz can frozen orange juice concentrate
1.) Place all of the ingredients in a blender and process until the mixture is frothy and the ice cubs have been chopped.
1 cup potatoes, peeled and diced
1 cup diced cooked ham
2 tablespoons cooking oil
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 small clove garlic, mashed (or ½ teaspoon pre-diced garlic)
1 ½ cups water

1.) Heat the oil in the skillet and then add the flour. Stir over medium heat until

4.) Bring to a boil then reduce heat and cover. Cook for about 15 minutes.

6 oz butter
6 oz brown sugar
8 oz oats
Pinch of salt
1 tablespoon pancake syrup
1.) Melt the butter and sugar in a large saucepan. When there are no more lumps
present, add the syrup and oats. Stir to evenly distribute the mixture, and
then add the salt.
2.) Pour the mixture into a greased baking tin and put in the oven for 20 minutes
on 180 degrees. Remove the tin from the oven when the mixture is golden
and bubbling. Allow the tin to cool, then cut lines in the flapjack. Let the
flapjack’s cool a bit longer before removing and eating.
Pre-made pizza dough
Favorite cheese, shredded
Sausage or other favored breakfast meat
1.) Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2.) Whip the eggs in a bowl with a little water. Chop up sausages and add to
eggs. Mix in shredded cheese.
3.) Spread pizza dough out on a cookie sheet, and make a small “lip” around the
edge of the dough so the mixture won’t run off.
4.) Gently pour the eggs, sausage and cheese mix onto the pizza dough. Place in
the oven and cook for approximately 25 minutes or until the dough is done
and eggs are thoroughly cooked.
Muffin Tin Egg Sandwiches
¼ cup milk
6 cooked sausage patties
1.) Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2.) Stir the eggs and milk together, then fill 6 muffin tins with the mixture. Bake
for 20 to 25 minutes.
3.) Cut the biscuits in half and place one egg, some cheese, and a sausage patty between each biscuit half.

¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup chopped peeled peaches (can substitute with chopped apple if
¼ cup dried cherries, raisins, or snipped pitted whole dates
⅛ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ cup skim milk
1.) In a medium saucepan, bring the water and salt to a boil. Once boiling, stir in the oats, peaches or apples, raisins, and cinnamon.
2.) Reduce the heat and simmer, uncovered, for about 5 minutes while stirring occasionally.
3.) Remove from heat, cover, and let stand for around 2 minutes before serving with a little milk poured over the top.
