DadsDivorce LIVE: Keith Hinson Explains His ‘Divorce Selfie’

Keith Hinson and Michelle Knight didn’t set out to become poster children for amicable divorce. But that’s exactly what’s happened after the former couple posted what people are calling the first “divorce selfie” last year.

Last year, Hinson and Knight posted a picture of themselves on social media happily holding their divorce papers outside the Clerk of the Court Domestic Relations Office. Attached to the post was the following caption, “We are officially un-married. Here’s to the most friendly, respectful, and loving split imaginable. We smile not because it’s over, but because it happened.”

The post went viral and was picked up by several national news outlets. Although it wasn’t their intent, Hinson and Knight provided a refreshing reminder that just because a marriage doesn’t work out, doesn’t mean the divorcing couple has to end their relationship in bitterness and anger.

Hinson recently joined DadsDivorce Live to discuss why he and Knight decided to post the “divorce selfie,” the reaction they received from it and how they’ve managed to remain friends post-divorce.
