June means summer BBQ’s, weekends at the lake and, for men, heightened awareness of your health.
The purpose of Men’s Health Month, according to its website, “is to heighten the awareness of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of disease among men and boys.”
The month gives health care providers, public policy makers, the media, and individuals an opportunity to encourage men and boys to seek regular medical advice and early treatment for disease and injury.
At DadsDivorce.com, we realize how important health is. That’s why we’ve started a series of fitness videos in conjunction with Lionheart Fitness & Performance called “Stepping Up Fitness” that brings you monthly workout videos to help you stay healthy. Click here to start learning how you can exercise better.
In addition to watching those fitness videos, what else can you do during June to help?
- Schedule an appointment with your doctor for a routine check up and remind other guys in your life to do the same.
- Increase your physical activities whether it’s deciding to walk an extra 15 minutes a day or throwing a Frisbee with your kids.
- Write an opinion article about men’s health and how it affects the entire family and submit it to your local newspaper.
