Across the country, there is a movement to enact shared parenting laws that would help level the custody playing field for divorced parents.
The shared parenting movement achieved a significant breakthrough last month when House Bill 35 went into effect. The bill combats the outdated family court tradition of awarding sole custody to one parent, typically the mother, nearly 80 percent of the time.
The bill was sponsored by Representative V. Lowry Snow of St. George. Rep. Snow joined DadsDivorce Live to discuss the implications of the bill and why the law will benefit fathers and children of divorce.
