Many parents across the United States are required to receive some form of parent education whenever they divorce. These programs are created to help parents know how to help their kids transition and adjust to their new lives.
In Illinois, one of the major programs that is used in 60% of the state’s counties is the Children First Program. Dr. Jeremy Jewell, who is a professor of psychology and program director of the Clinical Child and School Psychology graduate program at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, helped develop the program and he joins DadsDivorce to discuss how the program better equips parents to help their kids through the entire divorce process.
