Video: Cordell & Cordell News – April 17, 2015

Dads Divorce, sponsor Cordell & Cordell and sister site MensDivorce.com have teamed up to present a series of weekly recap videos to keep you informed on the latest news and top stories.

Cordell & Cordell announced the opening of a new office in Hendersonville, Tenn. The office is the firm’s fifth in Tennessee and the 13th new office to open in 2015 with further expansion planned for the rest of the year.

Dads Divorce added a new article examining how the recent shooting death of Walter Scott by a South Carolina police officer has exposed the harsh manner in which the state punishes those who owe child support payments.

It is believed that Scott was fleeing from the police officer because of a bench warrant that was out for his arrest for missed child support payments at the time of his shooting.

Men’s Divorce published the second of a two-part series by Indiana family law attorney Kimberly McCabe explaining everything you need to know about mediation.

Mediation typically involves a meeting between both parties, their attorneys and a neutral third-party mediator. The couple can reach a complete settlement, partial settlement or no settlement during mediation.
