Dads Divorce, sponsor Cordell & Cordell and sister site MensDivorce.com have teamed up to present a series of weekly recap videos to keep you informed on the latest news and top stories.
This week, Cordell & Cordell Principal Partner Joe Cordell and Executive Partner/CEO Scott Trout made media appearances to discuss the potential impact the Ashley Madison data breach will have on divorce attorneys.
Ashley Madison is an online dating website with 37 million users that helps married people cheat. Mr. Cordell appeared on the Fox Business Network and explained that the information stolen could provide valuable evidence for divorce attorneys if it is released. Mr. Trout noted on KMBZ-Kansas City that the hack could cause trouble on the work front as companies could potentially fire employees over character concerns.
Dads Divorce added a video to its DadsDivorce Live series featuring an interview with data analysis expert Randy Olson who recently compiled data on the last 144 years of marriage and divorce rates in the United States.
Olson – whose work has been featured on the New York Times, Wired, and FiveThirtyEight – sorted through the CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics database to compile data on the marriage and divorce rates since 1867 and uncovered several interesting trends of American couples through history.
Men’s Divorce posted a new article about some of the most frequent mistakes men make when going through divorce.
A panel of Cordell & Cordell family law attorneys explained some of the most common missteps they see clients make and gave advice on how to avoid them. Some of the most common mishaps include losing your temper, disclosing too much information to your spouse, and losing focus on what is really important.
