Society has a way of pushing dads to the wayside. Although research shows fathers are more active and engaged with their families than ever before, we still see time and again popular culture treating them as the less-important parent.
Even worse, while shared-parenting advocates continue picking up victories, the family court system still allows too many outdated stereotypes to minimize the role dads play in their kids’ lives.
However, there are many organizations out there performing hard and important work to strengthen the bond fathers have with their children and providing resources they need to become the best dads possible.
One such group is Wisconsin Fathers for Children and Families. WFCF Board Member Kevin Monahan discusses the organization’s mission and explains what it is doing to assist fathers and families.
